Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the University of Malta have made strides in educational cooperation as the latter has incorporated a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) course into its undergraduate curriculum.

Starting this year, TCM Techniques in Modern Physiotherapy will be a compulsory course for physiotherapy majors at the Health School of the University of Malta.

The two universities jointly set up a Chinese medicine center focusing on high-quality TCM teaching and clinical projects in Malta, a Southern European island country, in Nov 2015, which has gained a considerable reputation over the years.

To promote TCM education, the two sides discussed setting up part-time master's programs in Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture as well as Integrated Medicine during a visit to the center on March 31.

Through a variety of exchanges activities over the past five years, the in-depth collaboration between the two universities has become a shining example of educational cooperation under the "Belt and Road Initiative".
